Deus previews electric hypercar concept before New York debut

Williams and Italdesign collaborated on a new car that aims to be “distinctive in an increasingly competitive hypercar market.”

Austria’s new car manufacturer has released the name and preview image of their “ultra-limited” hypercar and its “high-performance” version, which will debut at the New York motorshow.

Deus Automobiles, which is headquartered in Vienna will debut the Vayanne (pronounced “vy-ahn”) at 6pm UK Time on 13 April.

The car was developed in partnership with Italdesign (WAE) and Williams Advanced Engineering(WAE). It is said to have a design language that is inspired by “symmetry” and “infinity”.

Deus claims it will strive to be “distinctive in the increasingly competitive hypercar market”, offering “innovative concepts for luxury performance and exclusivity”.

Although there is no indication of the electric powertrain that will drive the Vayanne’s engine, Deus did show a glimpse of what may be a rear lightbar.

Deus stated that Italdesign provided “strategic support and technical assistance” for the integration of new technologies. WAE offered advanced electrification technology.

Italdesign and WAE started offering a turn-key high-performance EV package to firms last year.

Both firms claimed that the architecture could be used for crossovers, saloons, and GTs. It was made using recycled composite materials as well as aluminium.

Dyrr Ardash, WAE’s business development boss, suggested that it could support cars that were “class-leading in terms both of dynamics and mass”.

You can equip it with one, three, or four electric motors. It also supports a maximum of 160kWh batteries for a range of upto 620 miles.
